Award : KSPTL Diploma

PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION

The Diploma in Oil and Gas - Instrumentation Maintenance focuses on the development of the underlying principles and practical skills required in the oil and gas industry.
The programme is designed to deliver a high level of occupational capability and provide a sound foundation for progression towards our Programmes in the Offshore Production Operator Training (OPOT) or Land Based Production Operator Training (LBPOT).
This meets the needs of learners who work or desire to work in the oil and gas industry and provides a broad background of understanding of the oil and gas industry and the practical skills and knowledge required.

PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES

Learners will develop knowledge and practical competencies to strategically and safely operate the equipment associated within an oil and gas facility. The experience gained from the principles and fundamentals of the programme provides the foundation and appreciation of the industry. Learners will incorporate safe working practices with standard operating procedures to fulfil course requirements and further qualify them as instrumentation maintenance technicians.

The learner’s competence is proven after successful provision of supporting evidence. The assessment strategy requires learners to provide evidence of their knowledge and practical abilities based on simulated work-related activities. Evidence takes the form of continuous assessments, written reports, practical assessment, and a final examination. Learners can use each piece of evidence to prove their knowledge, skills and understanding across different assessment criteria.
