COURSE DESCRIPTION

This introductory level course on Solar Energy provides the student with a basic understanding of solar energy production, installation, and operation.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Understand how solar energy is produced.

1. Basics of electricity, DC and AC.
2. Describe the function of each component and how they relate to each other.
3. How to size each component for a particular service.
4. How to install the system.

The target audience for this course consists of anyone interested in Solar or Renewable Energy or simply reducing the carbon footprint.

No previous knowledge of Solar Energy is required.




ASSESSMENT
This course will be assessed based on continuous assessments employing exams and a mandatory final practical assessment.
