COURSE DESCRIPTION


This course provides a basic Introduction to Project Management showing the Framework and Tools and Techniques to manage each stage of the Project Life Cycle. The course teaches project management fundamentals through lectures, hands-on exercises and practical experiences that can be immediately applied to your job. This approach yields an overview of project management capability, including the stages of initiating projects, planning projects, executing projects, project change control and closeout.

An introduction to the use of MS-Project is also included.

At the end of this course, students will not only become proficient in the terminology and foundational concepts of project management but also have direct engagement and personalized guidance from a live instructor. They will also gain a deeper understanding and practical ability to navigate and manipulate MS-Project files effectively. This interactive learning experience ensures that students are not just familiar with the theory but are also equipped with the skills to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios.

Aim of the course

The aim of this course is to present an introduction to the concepts of project management so the student can meaningfully contribute and participate in any project which he may encounter in his work environment, under the guidance and supervision of an experienced project officer or project manager. As such, the student will be able to apply the fundamentals of Project Life Cycle and Work Breakdown Structure to a given project.

This course can be pursued over a 12-week period.
Schedule – 2 sessions per week, 1 synchronous/live for 2 hours and 1 asynchronous for 1 hour.  
A weekly committment of 3 hours.

This course consists of both asynchronous and synchronous (instructor-led) learning.
